How to Twitter - Relationship Marketing to Create Powerful Customer Bonding and Loyalty Instantly

Twitter is the quickest, easiest way to put your relationship marketing on steroids. You can create customer bonding and loyalty in as little as just one tweet.

I believe Twitter is actually a pre-selling machine. Every tweet that you send out has the potential to create red hot pre-sold prospects attracted to your service, brand, product or business.

Here's the key: Find out what people want and feed it to them over and over again.

The more you execute this Twitter trick, the more social influence you can exert among your followers.

An easy way is to do it through Twittersheep.com. It should tell you what your Twitter followers are talking about and interested in. You might not know what they are actually interested in because you can get random followers from unrelated areas.

You can determine if your follower's interest is marketing or iPhone apps or some other niche, then feed them that kind of information over and over again. People respond well to things that they like, and they won't get bored with that.

You can go one deeper. The thing with Twittersheep is that it's quite general. You have general categories like marketing or sales, etc. However, you want to know, on a micro level, what your followers are interested in. This is really powerful because...

You can transform customer delight into a science.

I send out random links, quotes or tips to my Twitter stream and I track and test their responses. I see how many of them get re-tweeted or a response and what the click-through rate is.

If there are content with a higher click-through or re-tweet rate, I put it in the automated Tweet sequence.

These people are now getting more and more drawn to you. The chances are if you use attraction marketing the first time, you can keep and hold their attention (and their wallets) using the same formula over and over again.

If people follow me on Twitter, they get put into an automated tweet stream that pre-sells them to me.

This is just one of the little-know secrets to putting Twitter marketing to work for you, and take your relationship marketing to a whole new level.

And now I would like to invite you to claim your instant free access to my 6-figure Twitter for business video tutorials by going to http://www.DarkSideOfTwitter.com

How to Make Money With Twitter Using the Power of Relationships

Twitter is the latest social networking site which is very different than the old MySpace, FaceBook, links etc. Twitter allows users to make the world hear what they are doing right now, hence the slogan, what are you doing now. Twitter also is a social network website that can make you money. If you are familiar with RSS feeds then twitter will help you totally making money online. Here are three simple steps to make money on twitter.

1) Follow people who could be interested in your products or services. I suggest follow 1000 weekly and then use something called TwitFresh, Google it, which will delete all the people who are not following you back

2) Tweet few times a day giving some content and replying to people's tweet, this way you'll gain trust from your followers or (customers)

3) Tweet with your link to your products or services website once every 3 days, spamming will not be tolerated on twitter.

If you are using rss feeds here are some tips

#1 - make sure you set the number of ads to a low display frequency.
#2 - don't set auto approve ads. Manually review all of the ads.
#2 - only choose ads to your twitter profile that you might normally tweet about.

Remember consistency is the key, do this every day and you will see results. May I also stress , do not spam, and just hit people in the face with your products and services, let them find out fro themselves after you have built a relationship with them.

How to Use Twitter For Your Small Business

This article will briefly describe what Twitter is, and how to use it. The remainder of the article is geared towards the Twitter user who is looking to network or promote their business. Twitter can be an incredibly powerful free internet marketing tool if you use it properly.

WHAT IS TWITTER

Twitter is a "micro blogging" site. Essentially you use it as you would a blog, however, Twitter limits you to 140 characters whenever you write something. When you post something on Twitter, it's called a "tweet". In Twitter you will have people "following" you (people who will have your tweets appear on their Twitter home page), and you will "follow" people (you will see their tweets appear on your Twitter homepage). You can follow anyone you like. This could be friends or family, or it could be a celebrity or idol of yours. I've found that there are actually a lot of celebrities, authors, musicians etc on Twitter, and it can be kind of cool to see what they Tweet about.

You can tweet about whatever you like. If you're only connecting with friends and family, you can simply update people about what you're doing at the moment, or you can post links to cool videos or any other interesting information you want to share with people. I would highly recommend not over-tweeting, i.e. updating people every ten minutes on what you're doing. This can be very annoying to people who are following you, because then their entire home page is taken up by your Tweets, and it's hard to follow what other people are doing. If you're using Twitter to network and grow your business, the following sections are dedicated to you.

HOW TO USE TWITTER

If you haven't already, sign up for an account at twitter.com. Once you're in, go to your "settings" tab and enter your information. I would definitely recommend adding a personal photo of yourself to help people identify you. You can also spice up your home page by changing the background. Twitter has some decent backgrounds that are easy to use, but you can also use custom images as your background. If you want to do so, click "change background image", then "browse", and you can choose any image off your computer. Google "twitter backgrounds" and you'll get tons of results for cool backgrounds you can use for Twitter.

OPTIMIZING TWITTER FOR YOUR BUSINESS

The following sections are dedicated to those looking to network and promote their businesses.

OPTIMIZING YOUR PROFILE

You want to make your profile memorable and eye-catching to people, otherwise they're just going to pass you by and forget you. If you're marketing your business, it's 100% necessary you get a profile picture up there. The default Twitter profile picture is completely boring and forgettable, and it just doesn't bring anything to the table. Ideally, have a nice picture of yourself for people to see. I would also suggest getting a custom background image as I did before. Simply Google "twitter backgrounds" and you'll get a ton of different sites with some great background images. It not only makes your profile look interesting and unique, but it makes it look like you're a serious Twitter user. Additionally, it acts as a point to strike up conversation with strangers (i.e. prospects for your business). I get comments about my background frequently from people who are following me.

Add a link to your Web page of course in the "web" section of your profile. Also, I would recommend not adding a generic bio like "I'm an internet marketer etc...". First, it makes it look like the only reason you're on Twitter is to sell people. Second, putting up other information acts as a conversation starter with strangers. As soon as I changed my bio from something generic I had people commenting on my interests and asking questions about them.

OPTIMIZING YOUR TWEETS

As stated above, you don't want to be tweeting every ten minutes about something. Even if it's useful stuff it can get irritation for people following you. I can't give any exact number on this, but try to make a few interesting tweets a day. Don't just say stuff like "I'm going to take a walk" or something, try to put useful or interesting information out there. One, it will get people interested in you, and two, it won't look like all you're trying to do is sell people. You're limited to 140 characters per post, so it really is not difficult to make an interesting tweet. Link to a cool YouTube video or to an interesting news story. If you're in marketing, link to some great marketing advice. Do not constantly self-promote, it will just turn people off. Maybe make one tweet a day sending people to your site, but reserve the rest for other subjects.

GETTING FOLLOWERS

If you want to be getting leads, you're going to have to have people following you, and you're going to want lots of people following you. An easy way to do this is to use something called "Tweet Later". Go to http://www.tweetlater.com and register your Twitter account. Next go to Accounts, then Edit Account, then Edit. Scroll down and select "Auto Follow". With this option selected, you are going to follow anyone who decides to follow you. Most people on Twitter actually use this function, and this is how you're going to get followers. I personally follow about 200 new people a day on Twitter. If most of those people are using auto follow, that's around 200 new followers a day that I will get. If you have the time and patience, you can double that. The numbers add up, and you can quickly have a few thousand followers. That's a few thousand people who will potentially be reading what you have to say. Just be careful not to go overboard (no more than following say 400 new people a day), because the Twitter people don't want people abusing the system.

It can be useful to target other marketers. Some may be frustrated in their businesses and may want to join you. To find like-minded people, simply follow a big name marketer or business person. For example, Mike Dillard, Jay Kubassek, Donald Trump, Aaron Parkinson, and so on. Click on these people's followers, and then follow the next few pages of their followers. These will generally be people interested in internet marketing. It actually doesn't take too long to add a couple hundred people, it only takes one click to follow someone.

In the Tweet Later Edit Account section, you're also going to want to select "Auto Welcome". This will send whatever message you specify to your new followers. I would highly recommend NOT doing any advertising here, it will simply turn most people off, and it's incredibly transparent. My personal message is "Hey how's it going? Thanks for following! Where are you located?". You're not going to get anywhere close to having everyone actually answer you, but I do get a lot of interested people telling me they're great and where they're from. This is a great way to start a conversation. Any of these people may turn into leads. If they don't, then no big deal. I've personally found it interesting to simply meet and talk to new people from all over the world.

Finally, you will also want to unfollow anyone who isn't following you. Try to do this every 24 hours. You need to do this because once you are following 2000 people, the amount of people following you needs to be within 10% of the number of people you follow, i.e. if you're following 2000, you need to have 1800 followers. These are Twitter's rules, and if your numbers aren't right, you won't be able to follow any more people. To unfollow people, click on "Following" to see everyone that you're following. If someone is following you back, you'll be able to send them a direct message, i.e. there will be a "direct message" button right under their name. If there isn't, they're not following you back. To unfollow them just click the "remove" button on the right.

That's essentially the basics. Try it out and see what works for you. Just remember not to push your business all over people. For more free internet marketing information, check out my blog at mossopblog.com.

Talk to Me, But Listen First

There has never been a time like the present and a medium like the Internet, to provide people with the desire and ability to be heard. Everyone is "talking" either through videos, blogs, Tweets, or other Internet based solutions. But, is it all about people talking, or is it about people listening?

From a marketing perspective, Social Networking has been called "The Wild West," and though it is the hot buzz word, it is still untested with respect to a Return on Investment (ROI). Yes, in some cases companies claim that certain Social Networks have created value added at either, or both, top-line exposure and bottom-line revenue, but by-and-by, they are more of a distraction for a company, as workers feel that they need to converse with friends, colleagues, or an unknown entity throughout their work day.

Social Networks do point out one very important fact, people want to be heard, and they are willing to provide feedback as well engage in a dialogue, but you need to earn their trust. The interesting part of this is that people are open to exchanging information and engaging in a dialogue with the general public via a Tweet, through their LinkedIn, MySpace, Facebook, or one of a hundred other Social Network websites, but when a Company tries to engage a person there tends to be closure on communications.

So, why is this? Well, many Companies have used marketing methods that talked to the consumer, they did not listen to what the consumer said, and most of all a Company would tell their story, but this may not be what the consumer wanted to hear.

We have seen a steady change in how a Company will engage a customer, though the open dialogue and trust side is still very new for both parties. It will take some time for the customer to believe that what they are saying is being taken seriously, and for a Company's marketing department to believe that in many cases the customer knows best.

The world has changed and information is truly at a snap of a finger via the Internet. People are more empowered, in control, and informed than at any time in the past, and this is only the beginning. So, for a Company looking to be effective and utilize the power of the Internet, they need to be good a listener first, and a marketer second.

There have been examples of different Companies trying to engage a group via social networks under the guise of a regular person so they could try and find out information on their product or service, but once they are found out, it can become a bigger mistake for them than they could have ever anticipated. In fact, I received an email a few weeks ago on "How to Tweet for Business." Once I clicked on the link I was taken to a website that had a step-by-step approach on how to use Twitter for business, but not be overbearing and lose the conversation. The site noted on how to construct the 140 characters, and how you should only mention your company or website address on maybe every 7-10 tweets. So, what are we doing? We are becoming a shill for a Twitter conversation, which in many cases carries a total disregard for the person(s) we are communicating with.

This shows that it takes time, understanding, and the ability to be a good listener to earn the trust of your customer, but once you have established a relationship, the information, feedback, and loyalty could be worth its weight in gold.

From a general use perspective, Social Networks will continue to evolve and the consumer will continue to dictate which solutions will survive and how they want them to work.

From a marketing perspective, Social Networks will continue to be "The Wild West," but a good marketer will follow the process and track how people are communicating, as well as become better listeners.

Is Political Action Getting Through to People in Social Networks?

In the short time that social network sites have been on the internet, they have already made a huge impact. People are using them to stay connected to friends, meet new people, and promote online businesses. It is the hope of activists that the every day person would use these sites for political action, but this is not always the case.

There are so many opportunities to speak your mind through social sites and really let people know what you think on certain issues. The problem is far too many people are interested in talking about their weekend with friends or meeting singles. The question at hand is why people would rather discuss these types of matters than talk about politics.

Instead of trying to make a difference in the world, everyone appears to be status-obsessed and worried about what the next person is doing. The problem is people are far more interested in exhibitionism, what is happening in the lives of others, and displaying what is going on in their own lives.

Everyone wants to be a celebrity and put their lives in front of everyone else and social sites allow you to do so. You can get your name on the internet and inform everyone with what is going on in your life. If you are the type of person demanding attention, sites like Facebook and MySpace give you the opportunity to do just that.

To date the most active people on these sites appear to be politicians and marketers. But these are the type of people that use sites like Facebook and Twitter for a completely different purpose than the every day person.

Instead of writing a message on Facebook about their friend getting heavily intoxicated the night before, they are actually proposing a comment that has actual meaning. Using these sites for political action gives you a tremendous opportunity to introduce your ideas and thoughts to millions.

While the telephone allows you to connect to people all over the world, it is going to cost you an arm and a leg for a conversation on the other side of the world. The internet and social sites allow you to interact with multiple people at once from all over the world at the price of nothing.

What many political dreamers realize is the fact that people pay attention to what interests them. You can certainly make a post on Facebook and send it to millions, but people do not have to read the message or reply. Therefore, you have to learn to demonstrate intriguing content to lure people in.

The difference between chat rooms and social network sites today is people go to social sites typically to hang out with people they already know; not to meet new people. If someone sees their friend interested in a topic, they are going to check it out. If the content is of interest, it will be spread.

The infrastructure is there for people to take advantage of. The only thing left to make the most of political action thru social networks is to generate enticing topics and get them to spread.

How to Make Money With Social Networking - Start Making Money With Social Networking Right Now!

By now you have probably heard that social networking is the next big thing that can help you make money with your online business. However, if you like the majority of online business owners we have met, you probably are not making any money on social media web sites.

I have talked to many online business owners, who jumped into social media, and started using web sites such as Facebook and Twitter, created accounts, looked around the web sites and spent a lot of time there, but they did not make a dime from their participation.

If you are spending your time using social media, but are not making any money there, it's time to change that! You need to create an effective social media strategy that will help you use your social networking presence to make more money with your business. Here is how to do that:

- Create Effective Social Networking Profiles. When you join social networking web sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, you will be able to create your own profile on those web sites. Many people create a profile really fast, because they want to just jump into networking. And this is a big mistake. Your profile is one place where your potential clients can learn about you

Spend some time on creating an effective social networking profile - doing that will help you create educate more people about your business and make more money with social networking web sites.

- Offer Your Free Gift To People You Meet. Many times I see business owners start selling their products and services as soon as they get on social networking web sites. However, people you are networking with do not know you yet, so it will be very hard to convince them to buy something from you as soon as they met you. Instead of trying to sell to them immediately, offer them something of value free and use that gift to get them on your list.

Instead of asking them to buy offer them your free gift and ask them to subscribe to your newsletter. That way you can continue building relationships with them long after you have met them on social networking web sites.

- Build Relationships With People You Meet. People do business with people they know, like and trust. Build relationships and create connections with people you meet through social media. When you do that, you will be able to get more clients and make more money.

Tips For a Great Avatar-Online Photo

If you're looking for a new avatar or online photo for Twitter, MySpace, forums, message boards and more, you need to choose properly. For many, this will be a first impression of you and your image could go a long way towards what someone else will think of you. If you're looking for a professional or business image, here are some guidelines to help you:

• Don't skip the photo- this is a big mistake. Many users flat out ignore any user without an avatar or photo. They will often take you as a spammer.

• Avoid a group photo- This is a bad idea for an avatar anyway as they are so small it will be hard to identify you. Also, people are looking to connect with an individual and a group photo goes against this way of thinking.

• Non-personal photo or objects- People don't want to connect with your favorite pair of shoes or a soccer ball. Stick to a photo of yourself- a headshot works best.

• Famous person photo- This is never a good idea, de-personalizes you and makes you appear to be a spammer.

• Sexy photos- Sexy or skimpy photos will label you as a spammer at worst and they could give an unprofessional image of you.

• Bad quality photo- A poor image that's hard to see will not benefit you well. It's a busy Internet world out there and many people will skip right over you if you have a poor quality image they cannot make out.

If possible, you should try to make your photo represent you or the business you provide. If you can create a custom background with more information about you and links to connect with you online, this is always a great plus as well.

With these tips, you can make the most of your account profile by using a great photo/avatar each and every time. When you get that perfect avatar, you might even decide to use it with all of your accounts. This can help boost brand recognition as people will see your avatar and instantly know it's you.

Twitter Tricks - Secrets to Successful Social Networking

Twitter is the hottest buzzword in social networking today. If you do it right, you can expand your business connections rapidly. What exactly is social networking? Why is it so popular and how do you do it?

You don't need to attend an expensive seminar taught by a big name guru to find out what social networking is. Social networking is basically the process of getting out there and letting other people know who you are and what you are doing. Social networking is to get to know more people. That's it. We all learned social networking in our school playgrounds. If you are nice to other kids and share your toys with them, you make new friends. If you are self-centered and never share anything with anybody, there is a pretty good chance that you will be shunned by your peers. The same rule applies when you make social contacts through Twitter-- play nice, share, and make a lot of friends.

Today Twitter is the number one place for social networking. If you haven't done it, get a Twitter account now and start social networking. Use your real name or your business name, whichever you prefer, and upload your real picture. Compose a brief bio telling other people who you are, and make a link to your website or your blog. Don't forget to let them know your area of expertise.

What you need to do after that is to post a few tweets saying hello to the folks out there and giving little tips or info relating to your expertise. Next, you need to start following people. A little problem you may encounter here is you don't know whom to follow. No problem. Use the link at the bottom of your main page called Twitter Search and type in keywords related to the topics you are interested in. It is best to start your Twitter networking by following people in your own field. After typing in your industry, you will see a long series of usernames pouring in. Click on some of those usernames and find out who they are. Sooner or later, you will find some folks you like to get to know better. Follow these people and interact with them.

The most common mistake a newcomer to Twitter makes is to get started by posting link after link about your own business without interacting with other people first. You are not likely to get many followers this way. A better approach is to share some juicy and useful information about your business. You should start by sharing not selling. Give away free information and you will find a long list of followers.

Twitter Smart Choice - Follow Or No Follow

To promote your business through Twitter, one of the toughest decision is to follow or not to follow. If you follow everyone who follows you, you will have a lot of friends. But it is likely that few of them are your business prospects. Using Twitter for a business purpose not personal, you need a better strategy to grow and promote your business.

If your primary purpose of creating a Twitter account is to connect to people who will turn into customers for your products or services, to follow everybody who follows you is a big mistake. Just like any other marketing strategy, it is important to focus on a targeted group of followers not just every username. Your products or services are not going to appeal to everyone. If you try to market your products to the entire Twitterverse, you are going to waste a lot of time and effort.

How to decide whom to follow and not to follow:

Here are some suggested tricks you can use to choose your followers more selectively. Visit his homepage and read his Twitter stream. You will definitely see if he is constantly promoting himself and nothing more. In this case, you should take a pass. Take a look at another user's homepage, if this person is giving out information by providing useful links to external websites which are entertaining and useful to your business, he is the one you should follow. Mutual interests are what make any business grow.

Next you should look at the biggest names in your field. These high profile people on Twitter are most likely to follow only people who are relevant to their business. This can lead you to more interesting and influential people who may be lesser known. See who they are following and who are following them.

These suggested methods of finding followers on Twitter is not foolproof and does not guarantee that your business will grow for certain, but they are excellent ways to find some new interesting people you can interact with and potentially do business with in the future.

Facebook, Twitter and MySpace Generate Leads and Extend Brand - A "How To"

You might think Twitter, Facebook and MySpace are only for your fifteen year old tween texting wildly on her cell phone, but these social networking sites have become important tools for large, respectable companies in generating business leads and extending their brand.

Facebook currently has over 100,000,000 members who link to each other through known friends and to new friends through suggestions from existing friends. Though primarily for personal profiles - many companies have discovered that creating a company profile enables existing and perspective customers to learn about your company's services, products and to receive news blasts as you update your status.

Twitter has recently exploded as a quick and efficient means of sending short communications to customers since tweets are limited to 140 characters. (This sentence has 127 characters) "All ladies tops 50% off today only at DFW Dress Shack" is a great example of a tweet a retail company might send to their "followers" to generate interest and drive sales. Most followers receive tweets immediately on their cell phone further enhancing the timeliness of the Twitter mechanism.

The oldest of the three social networking sites, MySpace caters to a much younger audience but members cover all age groups. Rock bands, television shows, and other entertainment organizations have embraced MySpace to communicate with their friends in the same manner as Facebook.

The best way to use social networking sites is to provide your existing and potential customers with a mechanism to communicate with your team, learn more about your products and services, and to keep customers updated on exciting changes within your organization. The tools tend to be less formal so include the personality of your organization to increase interest from perspective customers.

Things to consider:

* How to track and convert new "friends" or "followers" to leads, then to customers?
* What is the most efficient method for managing communications with friends/followers?
* How can social networking and viral marketing be leveraged to garner attention and potential customers?

Fusionology - Learning About Social Networking

Social networking concerns any sort of multilevel social structure in which people keep an eye on or follow other people. In the real world, any sort of leader may be observed by assorted people who would be in turn followed by other people and so forth. Understanding the ins and outs of social networking should really be included in the marketing blueprint for a home business opportunity.

You will find this important sort of structure in the church, in business organizations, in educational establishments and even in athletics clubs. For a home business opportunity, this sort of social system can be leveraged because individuals who are at top levels can influence individuals below them (also know as a downline in multilevel marketing) to participate in the opportunity.

Social networking is a lot of help in MLM promotional efforts because much of the campaigning can be completed very successfully within the network. Nowadays, social networking has earned a completely new meaning with the popularity of these techniques on the World Wide Web through sites like Orkut, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, etc. Nevertheless, for our purposes in this particular marketing blueprint, we'll refer only to traditional techniques of social networking.

The Benefits of Social Networking.

There's always a high success rate affiliated with social networking because the individuals who are pushing their business opportunities are known to the prospect in some manner. This leads to an growth in credibility of the marketer. The individual being prospected is unlikely to turn down the idea right away because of this association. He or she will at the least schedule an appointment to hear out what it's about. Common interest groups always aid in any sort of business marketing, MLM included. Whenever individuals are within a specific social network and one of them is involved with a certain MLM activity, the other people may believe, "If he's doing it and is pleased about it, perhaps I can give it a shot also." This sort of mental picture helps in promoting business.

The Downside of Social Networking.

Many individuals may sign into the network just out of duty. They may not be in reality interested in the idea. This may be seen in an office setting when a top-ranking officer asks his or her staff about the opportunity. They might do it just to keep up cordial relations with their boss. All the same, such reps will add to the bulk but won't be instrumental in directing matters forward. They might also hold resentment against their boss if matters don't work in the way they should, which can take a toll on their original professional relationship. Then there's as well the point of the relationships being personal. Due to this, it's conceivable that a lot of out-of-context talk goes on between the candidate and the marketer, thus reducing the outcome of the effort.

Understanding all you can about social networking and the benefits and drawbacks can give you a good footing when you are trying to advance your company. As well having a good marketing blueprint for a home business opportunity is essential.

# # Using Social Sites Like Twitter to Grow and Build Business

Social media sites like Twitter and Facebook are useful networking tools. But how can business owners use these sites to build and grow business? It just requires some out-of-the-box thinking.

The micro-blogging service Twitter is growing at an amazing rate. eMarketer estimates that the number of people using Twitter will jump to an incredible 18.1 million in 2010. This would mean that 10.8 percent of Internet users will be on the site.

At the same time, more than 100 million users log on to Facebook at least once a day, according to eMarketer.

But how many of these people are actually using these social networking sites to build business and add customers? There's no statistic available for that, but it'd certainly be far lower than the roughly 6 million Twitter users that eMarketer says existed in 2008.

The vast majority of the users of any social media site rely on the services to keep in touch with friends, family members and distant acquaintances. But there are ways for business people to use sites such as these to boost their existing business and make more money.

Business people just have to use these services in a more creative way.

For instance, business owners might use social media sites to learn more about the customers they already have. They can then serve them better.

Maybe you're a real estate agent. If a homeowner contacts you through your personal Web site, you can then look that contact up on Facebook. If the homeowner is on the site, you can give that person "friend" status and then attempt to learn as much as possible about him or her. Sometimes, this information can help the real estate agent turn that potential customer into an actual customer.

Maybe the potential client will have left a direct message complaining about the lack of closet space in her current home. The agent then knows that this client's new home must come with first-floor closets as well as bedroom ones. The agent now has valuable information to better serve this potential new customer.

If you own a restaurant, you can send short messages to your contacts at Twitter to tell them about expanded hours or new menu items. Maybe you're a financial planner. You can send your clients quick congratulations on their birthdays. Facebook, after all, can notify you when your contacts are celebrating a milestone.

It is possible to use social networking sites like these to boost business. Users just have to be willing to use the sites to better serve existing customers and leads. Trying to find new customers through them may end up being a waste of time.

Interesting Facts About Twitter Microblogging Service

History of microblogging began on 1 March 2006, when the popular social network Facebook added small feature - users could write what are they doing right now. A few months later was launched a service called Twitter. In the beginning Twitter had single goal - through the exchange of short messages tell friends that you are doing now.

From a technical point of view, Twitter is simillar to IRC client and it is often referred to as SMS Service on the Internet - the length of a message is limited to 140 characters, as in a standard message SMS.

But why it is so popular now? Here is answer - seven facts, which made Twitter even more popular:

History of the collision a passenger plane with a bunch of birds in January of 2009, followed by landing into the waters of Hudson has not done without Twiter. Janis Krums, located in one of the ferries, photographed fallen plane and tweeted the image before the media arrived to the scene.

During the terrorist attack in Mumbai (India) eyewitnesses sent approximately 80 messages every 5 seconds in Twitter. 'Twittering' helped compile the list of dead and wounded. They also distributed emergency telephone and addresses of hospitals in need of blood donations .

Investigation of New Scientist technology compared Web 2.0 service with usual world media, in result was found that microblogging service is better for planning efforts in the rescue operations. For example, the Red Cross in America is already using Twitter for sharing information about local events related to the activities.

All entries in Twitter.com are indexed by search engines.

Owners of BlackBerry phones are most addicted Twitter users in the world.

In October 2008, the U.S. special services had come to see Twitter as a possible communication service for the terrorists.

In February 2009, the press Secretary of the Ukrainian president informed about opening of the official Internet profile Of President of Ukraine - Viktor Yushchenko in the social network Twitter.

At the moment is so many microblogging services out there. But they are not even close to popularity of Twitter.

Facebook Marketing - 4 Strategies That Most People Are Not Using

Thousands of people who are in the network marketing/mlm/affiliate marketing industry are flocking to Facebook.com to build their business. The sad part of it all is: 99.9% of them are doing it all WRONG.

But why is Facebook growing so fast? Right now as we speak the ancient days of communication are over. We used to have to write a letter and put it on a horse and send it across the country. Then we had phones, then email and now we have cell phones, video messaging and social networking. We can get connected to millions of people in a matter a seconds.

Never before have we as entrepreneurs had the ability to "belly to belly" (old school marketing term) it with thousands of at the touch of a button. Social media is exploding faster than anyone could have ever imagines for business.

So here are some strategies that the majority of the industry are really not taking advantage of.

1. Using groups- Facebook has the option to create "groups" of people that are interested in the same things. When you create your own group/groups it is just as powerful as building your opt-in mailing list. If you are providing well written valuable content, then your group will see you as a resource to go to for answers. (This is the essence of Attraction Marketing)

2. Adding friends- Many people are just adding friends constantly with no regards to who they are adding. You want to be able to communicate with people who are willing to communicate with you. Don't just go and start adding friends, leave them a personal message with you add.

3. The writing on the Wall- One of the most powerful things that brings this specific social site to the forefront of all others is "The Wall". You can post personal messages on your friends wall, this allows you to build a relationship with other people and allows their friends to find you and become your friend.

4. The HTML Box- Right now this is one of the most powerful tools on your profile that you can have. You are now allowed to have a HTML box, which means that you can post the HTML code from your autoresponder directly on your profile. This eliminates directing people to your webpage, they can go directly to your opt in box and become a lead.

Should You Befriend Everybody on a Social Network

An author friend once noted this advice on promotion via social networks from a book marketing professional: follow and you will be followed. Essentially this means one should set up a Facebook or Twitter account, then seek to follow and friend anybody with similar interests - an author, other authors and readers; a musician, others in the field.

While it may appear to be a good idea in theory, let's look at the result: if you were to blindly select a thousand people on Twitter to follow, chances are a good-sized percentage will follow back. Sounds good, huh? In theory, you might think you can convert all these followers into customers or clients, but consider why many people are on Twitter in the first place: to market their own products. What is more likely to happen is that a thousand people will follow you with the intent of converting you to purchase their goods. A top turn-off for some who choose to follow Twitter users is receiving that initial automated greeting message - you know the one, there's usually a URL and a pitch. You haven't read one of the person's "tweets" yet and already they're on the hard sell.

In order to get the most out of social networks as a means of promotion, a few things you'll want to bear in mind are:

It isn't necessary to follow everybody who follows you. If you follow too many Twitter folks the chain of messages received becomes diluted. Posts from people you truly want to follow may get lost in the shuffle of numerous advertisements. True, you want people to follow you, so it's important to set your profile up as one that contains pertinent content, yet doesn't appear to constantly hustle readers. If, however, you are set on using Twitter to promote your business, set up a separate account for personal use.

To become attractive to Twitter users, be an expert. "Socialization" is the key to succeeding in any social media network. Not only should you use your Facebook and Twitter accounts to relay information on your favorite subjects, but you should interact with users as well. If you sell sporting goods, ask followers and friends what brand baseball bat or glove is the best, or who they think will win the Series this year. Put a personality behind the avatar and you may find people will recommend their friends to follow you.

Don't be afraid to promote other things. If you see a news item related to your line of business, share it. Never feel as though you are helping "the competition" in any way. In fact, sharing this information could help you in a way, as it might inspire followers to "re-tweet" your findings and credit you. This in turn could lead to more followers, and perhaps more business.

MySpace Music Account Creation - Are You an Artist Looking For More Exposure?

If you are a music artist who would want to use MySpace as a form of self-promotion, better read this article first before you decide to sign-up for an account. Account creation over the internet has always been a part of our virtual lives that we tend to overlook details of most importance as we go through it. For a usual membership in a social networking website, it really would not matter much but an account creation for self-promotion purposes requires much effort and time investment than what you might think PLUS mistakes can cost you a good start for your career. Below are the four steps of MySpace Music account creation to get you started on this new venture with your best foot forward.

How to create a MySpace Music Account

1. Sign up for a MYSPACE MUSIC account
This is supposed to be easy and obvious but some still commit grave mistakes from this point and on. When you go to www.myspace.com, make sure to sign up for a MySpace music page and not for a regular MySpace account. This section of MySpace is especially dedicated for musicians thus eventually creating a fans base where listeners go to browse for new artists and fresh music. Mistakenly creating an account for a regular member page would cost you a lot of opportunities. Start right!

2. Come prepared
Like most account set-ups, MySpace would require a couple of information from you. Come prepared and make sure to have everything on this list handy;

• email address for the account
• band name
• band bio/personal info about the band
• band website, if applicable
• songs, videos and other promotional materials

3. Know exactly what you want for your music page
The account set-up would prompt you to enter the details from which you would want your page to be built against. What you want your page to look like depends entirely on the 'impression' that you would want to build as an artist and how much information you plan to include in it. Below are the page details you may need to plan for before the actual account set-up.
• graphics
• blog
• songs (you can include up to four)
• videos
• photos

4. Expand your network
Hey, you are in a social networking website and it's the best place to show off your talent! Engage on a find-a-friend month plan and increase your chances of meeting new friends and potential fans.

MySpace Music - How Can You Gain More Global Exposure?

MySpace is one of the most popular social networking websites. However, as time winds on, online business owners and aspiring artists have discovered its potential as a market venue for their goods, services and skills. Not bad as MySpace fever never seem to cease and the websites popularity is as inviting as ever.

MySpace Music page is simply a MySpace profile of a band or a music artist. It is a mini-website hosted by MySpace that user can customize in whichever way they would want to. Music and music videos can be uploaded on the website for streaming or purchase. The page owner's contact information and blogs are also available here. Its features are almost limitless thus offering more opportunities for self-promotion. Packaging is almost too good to be true but an introduction of MySpace music won't be complete without mentioning its Pros and Cons.

MySpace Music Pros

• It is a band's most convenient way of communicating with their fans.
• For a band that does not have a budget for distribution yet, it is a free and easy way to make their music available to the public.
• MySpace music is also the best means to communicate the latest on your group; tours, new releases and videos.
• It would allow a music artist to reach a global audience.
• There is a constant increase of MySpace users because of the thinking that everyone is already in it thus increasing your potential listeners as well.
• It tracks the number of people listening to your music which allows you to see what sells and what does not.

MySpace Cons

• A large number of friends on your page won't guarantee a success to your music career pursuit at all. Face it! Most of them are just like you trying to increase profile views to promote their goods and services. Worst, they can even be a fellow musician with same aim as you do; to increase MySpace music plays and climb the hit charts.
• There is no quality control observe so not all MySpace music users are certified artists! As the number of MySpace music users grow, the lesser your chances to be noticed.
• You are subjected to lots of offers and deals that most just won't work. Have a nose for scammers!

Finally, it still boils down to one thing; MySpace music is a promising way to promote your 'goods' over the internet BUT the chances of getting noticed from here gets slimmer as more and more artists and 'feeling-artists' alike sign-up for an account. Make sure to have other promotion alternatives running along the side.

Advertising on MySpace - Getting Your Products and Services Known Online

MySpace is known in its field as it can be considered one of the very first few social networking websites which has taken the internet community by storm. MySpace initially began as a marketing oriented website which adapted the then blockbuster hit start of Friendster. It thought of incorporating the feature-full characteristic of social networking websites to attract plenty of users which in time are going to be potential advertisers, marketers and consumers in the website; and they have not failed.

Throughout its stay in the business, MySpace has proven its worth as a social networking website and a venue for marketers. It has developed and evolved lots of features that allows flexibility and strategy for advertisers on the website. Their secret has been to not push too much until MySpace already has plenty of users. After accumulating a large of number of users, they started turning the website into a marketer's haven.

MySpace awesome start as a social networking website/marketer's haven inspired lots of other websites to follow their footsteps. Facebook and Twitter are some of these websites. Both made their names despite MySpace presence because of their features which are unavailable in MySpace. Unfortunately, this meant competition for the latter.

A sudden trend of switched users is noticed in month's time. They have not fully left MySpace but these users opted to market their goods in the newer websites. Competition is getting steeper as time passes by which brings us to the question of whether advertisement in MySpace is still ideal for most marketers' goods.

The answer is a Yes and No

For early users of MySpace who started out their online businesses in this social networking website and established their markets through it, the answer is yes. However, options are still wide open for them. It can be considered a business expansion for them. They can go ahead and keep their MySpace accounts while trying out Facebook's and Twitter's market as well.

If you are just a starting out online business owner however, it is highly recommended that you start fresh. Focus on what is new and trendy. Establish a market within social networking websites which offer new opportunities. You are not prohibited to use MySpace but your focus should be undivided. Pay equal attention to each of your strategies if you decide to join multiple social networking websites.

Finally, the key towards success is still within you. It is still your goods and services that people would look at. Advertisement is just a way to reach out to the crowd but your selling points are still right at the very palm of your own hand.
